What is Main Street?Founded in 1982, Main Street Washington has been a driving force in the revitalization of Downtown Washington for over 30 years using the guiding principles of Design, Promotion, Organization, and Economic Development developed by the National Trust For Historic Preservation.

Economic Development Director
Janet Parker Originally from Polk County, GA Janet received her Bachelors of Philosophy and Art History from the University of Georgia, and returned to UGA to earn a Graduate Degree in NonProfit Management (Go Dawgs!). Janet has worked in the tourism industry at the Athens Welcome Center, and in non profit and museum/site management at the Taylor-Grady House for the Junior League of Athens. She moved to Washington after accepting a position with the City of Washington. . Janet is extremely excited to be in Washington and cannot wait to see all that will be accomplished in the next few years with the community’s support! |
